Amateur Radio

Two Meter Repeater
The Town of Ipswich Emergency Management Agency owns and operates a 2 meter repeater.  This repeater is located at the public safety repeater farm which has the repeaters for Police, Fire, and Utilities. Our 2 meter repeater as well as the other public safety repeaters is backed up by an emergency generator.

This repeater is open to all licensed amateur radio operators for general use.  In times of emergency the repeater will run through a net control station. We will be conducting weekly radio nets in the near future. Please check back here for a net schedule.

Emergency Community Center Radio
Also, at our Emergency Communications Center we have amateur radio capabilities from 160-6 meters on our Yaesu FT-897. This radio is also capable of 2m/70cm operation. We have 2 Yaesu Ft-7800’s that monitor our repeater and other local repeaters. Please be advised this center is not manned 24/7 and if you have an emergency please call 911. During a state of emergency the center will be staffed. Currently, we only have phone capability but we are in the process of upgrading and in the next couple months we should be able to operate packet on our repeater as well as digital modes (PSK31) on HF.
