About the Committee
Mission
At the Ipswich Annual Town Meeting on May 13, 2014, a citizen’s initiative was presented, modified by the Finance Committee and duly adopted petitioning this effort. The result of this initiative was the creation of the Ad Hoc School Audit Committee. The Committee is composed of the following members: one member of the Board of Selectmen, one member of the Finance Committee, one member of the School Committee, and four town citizens.

Responsibilities
The Committee is charged with the responsibility of identifying specific areas of the school’s operation and organization to be audited for efficiencies, cost saving measures and synergies. The Ad Hoc School Audit Committee will prepare a request for proposals (RFP) for an audit based on the protocols, procedures, timelines, and metrics that the Committee will develop to assist the School Committee in performing the audit. The Committee will report its findings to the Finance Committee in March 2015 and these findings will be reported at the next Annual Town Meeting.
