The Ipswich PRIDE Beach Picnic has been rescheduled to Friday, June 9th.  It will be held at 4:30 PM at Crane beach. Games for children will be available. Share some potluck food and beverages if you’d like or just come and enjoy. All members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies are welcome.

IHRC Logo Contest for 6th-12th Graders! 

The Ipswich Human Rights Commission is having a LOGO Contest for 6th-12th Grade students!
This includes 6th-12th graders attending IMS/IHS, Private School, Voc/Tech School or Home School. We are accepting submissions between 5/23 - 6/14/2023. Winner to be announced by July 14th.

OUR MISSION & VISION

The mission of the Ipswich Human Rights Commission (IHRC) is to uphold the civil and human rights of all people in Ipswich. The IHRC‘s vision is to reinforce positive relationships, cultivate a greater appreciation of diversity, eliminate prejudice and intolerance, and promote mutual respect and acceptance of individual differences based on, but not limited to race, ethnicity, color, religious views, national origin, sex, gender identity or expression, citizenship, age, ancestry, family/marital status, sexual orientation, disability, source of income, and military status. 

WHO WE ARE

We are a group of 10 citizens* appointed to advise the Town Manager, Select Board and other Town Departments.

*Voting Members:  9   Alternates: 1

WHAT WE DO

The IHRC will focus on: 

  1. Responding to incidents of hate, bias, and discrimination
  2. Educating the community on issues through programming and events
  3. Community Building by partnering with groups in and around Ipswich and by encouraging community members to learn about common ties that connect the people who make up our community
